You guys. You are the best friends anyone could ask for, and I feel so blessed to know all of you. Your comments and encouragement on my last post helped more than you could possibly imagine. I almost deleted that post, but now I'm so glad I didn't. Just knowing that you guys are out there, that you care and understand and most of all that you now know a little bit about Milo... It helps so much. Honestly, I have not felt so encouraged for months, and for the first time since he passed away I've been able to start thinking about Milo with a smile (even if I still tear up).

I've also realized that I really need to reconnect with you guys. I've been sort of lurking around LJ for ages without commenting much, but I miss actually talking with you all! Facebook is nice but it just ain't LJ. :)

Anyway, that's it for now. Just wanted to give you all my thanks and love and hugs! Hope you're all having a wonderful week. ♥

So, it's been over two months since my beloved "hobbit cat," Milo, passed away. I think it's high time I wrote about him, because he was a special guy and deserves to be remembered.

Be warned, it's LONG. And probably tear-jerking.

I'll probably post more pictures later.

Wow, does anyone else watch Merlin? I keep getting hooked on this show even the screenwriting, special effects and plot are all TERRIBLE. However, it helps that Arthur is HAWT. Or maybe that's why... It's so bad, it's good. Either way, it definitely gives me hope for my own career as a writer. XDDD

In other news, I'm back at school and so far it's been pretty anticlimactic. I'm in a scriptwriting class which should be fun. However, I'm also in an advanced French composition class with writing assignments due literally every class period. I see lots of stressful tiems in my future. ;_;

BUT otherwise my schedule's pretty light, due more to the absolute suckage of this semester's classes being offered. I've got Irish art (yay), Raquetball, yoga and "fitness walk/jog." LOL at being able to take PE classes for credit. NOT!LOL for having written finals for these PE classes. (Seriously. WTF.) orz

Other than that... it's been editing, writing, plotting and agent-hunting for me. BUT BAWWW I MISS BEING HOME WITH MY CAT!!! ;A;/

It is Tuesday here in GA and since I will be out of the house most of the day tomorrow (or rather, later today I suppose), I figured I should post this now in case I don't have a chance to do so later.

Happy Birthday, Captain obeliamedusa!!!

May it be a (gravely) beautiful, wonderful day and may you and your swain (gravely) have fun in Vancouver with friends and family. *touches your arm gravely* I apologize for once again failing to prepare a birthday ficlet, Captain, but I shall do my best to rectify that error next year. Perhaps if I start now I will finish in time...

In any case, enjoy your day and I hope to chat with you soon!

*gravely hugs and salutes*

Hullo, friends. I'm in the editing process of my first book now and it has brought up the question of accents. I didn't include any in my rough draft mostly for the sake of simplicity, but now I'm thinking about changing that. However, I have conflicting feelings about the use of accents in writing. On the one hand, it often helps define a character and adds unique flavor to their speech - for example, I can't imagine a Samwise Gamgee without his accent - but at the same time, poorly-done accents are distracting. I occasionally stumble upon Star Trek fanfic in which the author attempts to write Chekov's accent, and it doesn't always work well.

This makes me very curious. How do you all, as readers and writers, feel about it? I've read some articles by writers and editors who are against it as a general rule, but then again I've also read some great books in which several characters had accents, so I really have no decisive opinion on the matter. Not that I'm asking for your input in order to make up my mind - like I said, I'm just curious. :3

So, finally saw Sherlock Holmes today and wow. Why are people going to see Avatar when you've got Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law solving crime and blowing stuff up? Seriously, this movie was fantastic: exciting, suspenseful and intelligently written. Of course it does help that the leading men are also nice to look at. 0:) I've never been able to get into the Sherlock Holmes books because they weren't exciting enough for me, so I am thrilled to be able to fully appreciate Holmes' gadgets and ingenuity while also enjoying an exhilarating, non-stop thrill ride. Plus the Holmes/Watson bromance friendship! Not to mention Hans Zimmer's fabulous soundtrack. My goodness, this movie was tailor-made for me. :D

But seriously. If you like action, snappy humor, Robert Downey Jr and a keeps-you-guessing kind of plot... Go see this movie. Now.

And now I must go hunt down some icons, because I'm quite sure this is not the last time I'll be seeing and squealing over Sherlock Holmes.

Whether you celebrate it or not, I hope you all have a beautiful, wonderful day full of friends and family and lovely things. And hopefully the weather is better for all of you, wherever you are, than it is here in GA. ;) To all my hobbity friends, have a happy Froday as well. I'm so thankful to know all of you!

You guys. I just finished my very first full-length original story. I've started dozens but have never finished a single original fic in my life. I believe I can now call myself a for-real, serious writer.

However, it is now 4:05 in the morning and I am still sick and have probably just bought myself another week of misery by staying up this late. BUT I DON'T CARE. I'm gonna go to bed and dream happy dreams of actually getting this story published.

Did I mention,
